Barry was the top contender for the Championship in 2004.  He had a 10 point lead over the eventual series champion Bill DeBlasio going into the last race of the year.  Bill ended up winning that event and thus took the crown out of Barry's hands.  But during the 2004 ECIRS season Barry won 27 rounds which is the 2nd most in ECIRS history.  As well as enjoying the ECIRS racing season Barry races at MIR in the weekly IHRA Mod ET series.  Barry won the 2004 TranZaction Drag Day at Cecil County Dragway and has the wall plaque to prove it.
